The air mass flow rate is the volume of air that flows through a defined filter area within a specified time and at a specified pressure. It is indicated in L/(min∙cm2∙bar). In addition, it is dependent on the contamination of the air, the porosity and pore size of the filter membrane.
In quality control applications, the measurement of the air mass flow is used for example to check the uniformity of the porosity of a filter membrane. SABEU continuously monitors the air mass flow in-line of the production process across the entire membrane width.
